A modern interpretation of period architecture

Set within a grand Victorian property undergoing extensive refurbishment, this kitchen needed to reflect the elegance of its surroundings while embracing contemporary living. Our approach was to honour the period charm of the home while ensuring a design that felt seamlessly integrated into modern life.

A carefully selected luxurious marble became the centrepiece of the kitchen, book-matched along the main furniture run to create a striking visual impact. This bold statement piece anchors the space, while connecting harmoniously with surrounding modular elements.

"Without the limitations of standard kitchen ranges, the design answers to the house, not the other way around."

Layered design & functional zones

The island, a continuation of the white marble, serves as both a sculptural focal point and a spacious breakfast bar, catering to the practical needs of a young, active family.

To create a sense of bespoke furniture within the space, we treated the oven housings and breakfast pantry as a distinct design feature, separate from the main kitchen run. This approach was extended to the drinks cabinet, finished with mono-toned quartz worktops and antique mirrored backsplash panels, adding depth and elegance.

Refined and bespoke detailing

From the timeless material choices to the careful integration of contemporary elements, this project seamlessly merges heritage with modernity. The result is a kitchen that not only enhances daily life but also resonates with the character of its historic setting.
